I found this article on CNN.com. I attended the University of Nebraska and I know where this small town is located.
The disposal of animal waste is becoming a serious problem in rural areas where ranching is the primary industry. Most of the drinking water comes from wells and some of these wells have become contaminated because of the animal waste.
